Heart vs Head: Sailing Toward Your Kind of People

Happy Friday,

This month has been all about getting clear on the types of people I truly value in my life.

I was in the gym the other day and got directly threatened by someone who thought I broke his phone. He was definitely not my kind of person—despite both of us wanting to work out.

I had an ex who I thought loved me. I had an inkling she was trying to take advantage of me. I was wrong—until I was right, years later. She was definitely not my kind of person—despite wanting to hold on.

I was in a job where I hated my manager, hated the work, hated being around the people. They were definitely not my kind of people—despite being afraid to leave.

I’ve partied with dodgy-looking people in Latin America who were absolutely my kind of people. And I’ve hung around with blood-related people who definitely were not.

You see, we have an inner GPS. It’s always ticking along.
It’s the heart’s intelligence vs the head’s.

The heart knows things.
Science is proving this now—check out HeartMath, Dr. Joe Dispenza, and the yogi neuroscientists who wrote the Gita and were called Buddha.
They’ll all tell you: Heart is smart.

But we listen to the head because it seems smart.
It’s dead.
And I don’t mean that as a cute developmental phrase. I mean it literally.
It’s based on dying.
Fear.
And all fear—ALL fear—is rooted in death. Or survival response, if you prefer.

So if the head is based on that, then we die inside.
We kill the thing that’s alive.
The heart.
The compass goes off.
It gets shut into a dark room. Exiled.

That’s the inner child.
The golden child, as I call it.

When I started reconnecting with this part of me—letting it speak, acting on its voice—I noticed a flow like no other.

Because again, back to science:
Flow experts will tell you we tap into a presence that’s not based on avoidance.
It’s based on riding the wave.
Leading the dance.
Voicing the voice.
Action that moves forward, not backward.

And when it comes to relational sciences, the heart can tell from a vibration whether something is off or on.
Green light. Red light.
And trust me—it’s not what your gut says or your head says.
It’s in the centre of the chest.
The gut can be fear too, so it’s confusing.

So my inclination over the next year is to sharpen this pencil.
To notice the vibrations.
To let myself attract the people into my business, my work, my life, and my alliances who I feel a genuine good vibe from.

And to notice this within myself first.
Not to judge others or point fingers saying they’re the issue.
But to ask:
What is karma trying to show me?
What is life guiding me toward?

All those people I mentioned earlier were my gurus.
My compasses.
When the wind blows on a boat, we listen.
We don’t get angry at the wind.
We realise it’s with us—signalling.
And we adjust.

Now I’m sailing toward the Mecca.
The Shangri-La.
Knowing there’s a paradise of my kind of people there.
And I’m loving the journey toward it.

I hope this email points you toward a direction you need to see.

I’ve created a video on my YouTube which expands on the Heart vs Mind way of life.
I hope you watch it and let me know what it stirs in you.

If you’re feeling summoned—yes, summoned—toward the next chapter of your life…

I may be in your life for a reason.
To be the coach.
The guru (as some clients call me—even if I shy away from the word).
The sailing partner to get you there.

I only work with people who are on a mission to make their life masterfully well-rounded.
Spiritually driven, growth-minded, purpose-driven creators.
Action takers.
People who want to live a life they love.

I love the clients who appear into my world.
Because I love to bring them on the boat with me.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Raj

P.S.
